JOB DESCRIPTION:
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Assistant Pastor is responsible for executing the total work of the Children, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry. This individual will need to maintain complete confidentiality, assist as needed in crises, and serve as a helpful and caring assistant to interface with the congregation and the Lead Pastor. This part-time position reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
II. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• The Assistant Pastor is responsible for assisting the Lead Pastor in congregational care and being able to stand in for the Lead Pastor in any of their core responsibilities.
• Will share in preaching or visitation ministries, especially if the senior pastor is on vacation, sick or extremely busy.
• Will share in conducting ministries outside the church, such as attending ministerial association meetings, conducting funerals, and performing weddings.
• The Assistant pastor will fulfill the role of the youth pastor by overseeing and leading the youth ministry and their activities.
• Share in duties including outreach planning events, missions, leading volunteers, biblical counseling, managing a budget, and meeting with visitors.
• Oversee and assist in outreach activities at church and outside of the church.
• Takes initiative for new and special projects, or projects requested by the Lead Pastor.
• Represents the Lead Pastor with members of the congregation, other churches, and the community at large, as required.
• Maximize training or educational opportunities, such as attending a ministry conference or enrolling in an accredited institution of higher learning or seminary, to sharpen skills in these areas.
• Train and recruit volunteers for efficient implementation of church programs and outreach.
• Teach Sunday school classes and ongoing Christian development.
• Help with media and soundboard needs if the need arises.
Youth Ministry Responsibilities:
• Provide spiritual leadership to the entire Children, Youth, and Young Adult Ministry
• Ensures the achievement of the goals and objectives for the youth while working cooperatively with various individuals and church groups
• Help Lead effective youth growth through discipleship, fellowship, worship, bible studies, evangelism, mission opportunities, and community service.
• Develop, manage, and provide oversight for the youth ministry budget, as required.
• Provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth and or family members on an as-needed basis
• Plan, organize, and implement the weekly youth gatherings.
• Proactively plan the youth calendar to develop community, relationships, fellowship, and spiritual growth.
• Assist church leadership in recruiting, mentoring, and equipping volunteers to support the youth
• ministry.
• Integrates youth ministry into all phases of church life to create a culture that embraces all generations
• Carries out other duties as may be assigned by the Lead Pastor.
• Support other ministry activities such as Christian Education, and outreach participation.
• Coordinate and develop with these ministries comprehensive, well-balanced, innovative, and dynamic biblical instruction and programming to ensure growth opportunities for our youth
• Ability to utilize various forms of social media to communicate with the youth and parents effectively.
• Provide counseling to youths and help them realize their individual goals.
• Administer and plan numerous youth programs like evangelism, retreats, and Bible study sessions.
• Coordinate with parents of youth group members regarding their children's involvement and participation in the church.
• Assist in organizing and compiling of Sunday school curriculum.
• Participate and contribute to staff and church meetings.
• Train youths on how to be future faith-filled leaders and set up programs to facilitate spiritual growth.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with various leaders in the community for purposes of swift outreach programs.
III. REQUIREMENTS:
• Must abide by the guidelines set forth by scripture for a pastor found in 1 Timothy and Titus
• Must be a male by birth.
• Must agree with Boonsboro Bible's Statement of Faith and Doctrine.
• Agree with and abide by the Boonsboro Bible Church Constitution.
• Must be in college pursuing a degree or be a graduate with experience in ministry or equivalence
• Must possess a working knowledge of standard office equipment, including copiers, phones, calculators, and fax machines
• Must have a ability to work with Microsoft Office.
• Must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of computers and proficiency in software programs, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Excel, database systems, and use of the internet
• Must possess efficient, caring, and discerning telephone skills.
• Must have a heart for the ministry of Boonsboro Bible Church and the people of the church family
• Must possess the desire to aid the Lead Pastor in fulfilling his responsibilities and lighten his load whenever possible
• Must demonstrate an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ through regular prayer, Bible study, and worship attendance
• Must be/or willing to become a member of Boonsboro Bible Church and agree with the State of Faith and Doctrine.
• Must attend church services with their immediate family and household, if married, on a regular basis.
IV. Expectation:
• The assistant pastor will have annual reviews with the Lead Pastor and give updates on monthly activities to the Church board.
• Will have a probation for 3 months to assess the performance of the position.
• Will meet attend a weekly meeting with the senior pastor to go over concerns and upcoming events
. Maintain confidentiality at all times and in all situations
• Must have good communication skills.
• Have the gift of hospitality and service.
• Possesses a helpful, cheerful, diplomatic, and caring servant attitude to all.
• Strong organizational skills
• Able to prioritize and multi-task, using good time management skills in a fast-paced environment activity.
V. EXPECTED HOURS:
• Minimum of at least 10 hours a week involved in Church ministry and study.

About the role:
The worship leader will work with our pastor(s) in cultivating worship services and worship teams that help lead our congregation to see and revere the greatness and glory of God, and His saving work through Jesus Christ, in the power of the Spirit.
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead music for our weekly Sunday worship service, choosing congregational hymns and contemporary songs that engage the congregation and support the reading and preaching of God’s Word. (John 4:24)
Modeling and leading heartfelt worship in an invitational style that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus.
Recruiting, facilitating, and training musicians in the church to serve the congregation as a team with musical skill and humility.
Leading weekly rehearsals that serve a dual purpose: (A) preparation for Sunday and (B) cultivation of Christ-centered community.
Assisting, as needed, with the preparation of visual materials (i.e PowerPoints) to coordinate with the selected worship sets.
Be available to lead music at Easter, the Christmas Eve Service, Christmas services, and other special events.
Candidate requirements:
Clear testimony of a life that has trusted in and is walking with Jesus Christ.
Cultivates a growing relationship with God through prayer, Bible study, and spiritual disciplines, seeking personal and spiritual growth to lead others in worship effectively.
Willing to serve as an active member in good standing of Boonsboro Bible Church, agreeing to our statement of faith, and demonstrating a commitment to this congregation and its mission.
Demonstrates proficiency in playing guitar and/or piano. Experience leading a group of musicians is preferred.
Possesses a broad knowledge of various worship music genres, including contemporary Christian, gospel, hymns, etc.
Demonstrates organization and administrative skills related to the task (i.e. scheduling, managing materials, etc.)
Acts as a team player and demonstrates humility with willingness to learn and grow.
